Spring has sprung and summer is almost here. This time of year is synonymous with beaches, BBQs, and some of the best parties. In countries all over the world, gay communities will come together at events to party, enjoy friends and celebrate life. Here are just a few of the must see events taking place in April 2013.

  • Miami Beach Gay Pride, April 8-14: Just a few days remain to take part in Miami Beaches largest 2 day gay event. Party with 60,000 friends and end it all with the Pride Parade that that starts on 7th and Ocean at noon on the 14th.
  • Phuket, Thailand Gay Pride, April 22-28:  Seven, count ‘em, seven days of fun and frolic in one of the world’s premier beach destinations. From pre party pool events to sexy bachelor auctions, this week of celebrations and parties will leave you trying to catch your breath.
  • Tokyo Rainbow Week, April 27–May 6:  While Tokyo’s gayborhood may seems quiet at first, visitors to Shinjuku Ni-chome  soon learn that the small 16 block area houses over 300 bars, and numerous other “attractions”. The community in Tokyo has become more vocal over the years, growing from a small parade to a weeklong event that promises any participant memories to last a lifetime.
  • Queen’s Day, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, April 30:  Not officially a “pink” event but queer folk from all over the Netherlands (and the rest of the world) descend upon Amsterdam every year to celebrate this event. Dance clubs, parties and other venues will be packed. This year’s Queens Day is special since the ruling Queen Beatrix will abdicate and hand the crown over to her son, Prince Willem-Alexander. Expect the parties to be especially festive.
  • Sleazy Madrid, April 30 –May 5:  Spain’s capital of Madrid can be quite dirty, and in a good way. With 13 years under its belt the Sleazy Madrid fetish and music festival has firmly established itself as a premier stop in the gay fetish circuit. Offering three main parties this year, Sleazy Madrid will enthrall festival goers with well-known DJs, producers and more boys in leather and rubber than you can count.
