Exploring our world through gay eyes

Two feluccas cross on Egypt’s Nile river

(c) GTH & Nathan DePetris

Serving as the primary form of transport for travelers on the Nile for centuries, the traditional wooden sailing vessels, or Feluccas, are a breathtaking sight to behold. Though made obsolete by the modern motor boat in the early 20th Century, today’s adventurers can still rent them for fishing, crossing from one bank to the other, or simply for a leisurely cruise up and down the river.
